Lee Clark is expected to make his first Birmingham City signing this week when he enlists the services of former Newcastle United and Rangers striker Peter Lovenkrands.
The 32-year-old Danish front-man was released by Newcastle at the end of last season after making 84 appearances and scoring 29 goals for the Magpies over four seasons.
His most profitable season (16 goals scored) came in 2009/10 when Newcastle were promoted to the Premier League as Championship winners.
Lovenkrands has been capped 22 times for his country and can play up front or down the left wing.
The Dane suffered a frustrating 2011/12 season at St James’ Park, where he was restricted to only 11 first team appearances due to injury.
Lovenkrands has been linked with a transfer to Birmingham several times and will now finally make the move to St Andrew’s.
